Tri-M was incorporated in 1987 with its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Singapore. In 1993, it became the first local subcontract manufacturer to be listed on the main board of the Singapore Stock Exchange.

The Singapore office houses the group's Corporate Management, Finance, IPO office, Human Resource, Business Development and Program Management.

Tri-M's first regional manufacturing facility was setup in Penang, Malaysia in 1991. The factory was built on a 5-acre piece of purchased land, with a built up factory space of 80,000 square feet. On the China front, a manufacturing plant with gross floor area totalling 85,000 square feet was setup in Buji, Shenzhen in 2002.
